Paul “Taff” Edwards -  Drummer / Songwriter – Born: Luton UK – Lives: Gozo, Malta

Originally a bass player, Paul swopped to drums at the age of 15. Formed first “proper” band “Kat Kool and the Kool Kats” (with Paul Young>>Q Tips / 80’s heart-throb-crooner-fame!) and supported a host of artists that passed through the local area, including Slade, Frankie Miller and Mott The Hoople.

Joined Sidewinder (with Stuart Smith>>Y & T) and toured the UK and a number of US Airforce bases in Germany. Sidewinder soon morphed in to a 3-piece called The Winders, and ended up doing over 60 dates on tour with Motorhead and Girlschool.

Deciding to concentrate more on song-writing, Paul moved to London and formed the first line-up of 720, later joined by Dave “Bucket” Colwell. The band built a solid reputation as a live force, undertaking arena tours with Black Sabbath, Blizzard of Oz and countless support slots with pretty well every major touring band at the time. They were also regulars in the pages of Melody Maker, Sounds, Time Out, The Evening Standard and Kerrang.

Pauls’ next project was to form The New Torpedoes, with Phil Lewis (Girl, LA Guns, solo). They were just starting to break in the UK, when Phil was offered the chance to replace Axel Rose in LA Guns, which the whole band agreed he should accept.

Shortly after he re-united with Bucket in The Torpedoes, along with Andy Barnett, (Visage / Corey Hart / The Adrian Smith Project) and recruited female vocalist “Misty”. Again the band had another good run of success which culminated in a live TV appearance on the Channel 4 ECT rock show and a BBC Radio session on the Tommy Vance show. By now both Bucket and Andy Barnett were being courted by bigger bands, and it became impossible to keep the line-up together.

Paul then withdrew from the mainstream music industry to concentrate on business interests. In the past 5 years he has again turned his attention to music, and recently signed a new publishing deal with Jack Russell Music. In March 2015 he saw a song he had co-written with FM appear on their new album, Heroes and Villians, which reached no 35 in the UK National chart, and no 7 in the UK Rock chart.

Paul has co-written the songs for the new Rebel Heart album “Twenty Good Summers” with Bucket, and will also feature as the drummer in the band.
